Sums it all up really

I’ll tell you about it tomorrow. 🙂

From the caravan, total of 13 miles with the boy. Back on the wagon, back to reality. Back on the club ride tomorrow so I can stop boring you guys. Watch this space huh?

Brockwurst and a Bean

July 29, 2010

Tuesday we filled the panniers and went to stay at the caravan near my mum. Tuesday night we went to the local for tea. I should know better, I have no strength in my wrists, I certainly can’t hold my body weight, so why did I attempt to ride the kids ariel slide? Because I knew falling on my ass would be fun of course. Though two days on I wasn’t expecting my arms to hurt quite so much. Anyway, I’m having a fun relaxing time. Last night we stayed up till half twelve watching movies. The bean slept in a proper scary caravan bunk bed and has professed such a deep love of brockwurst that he’s had it for every meal.

The bikes are in a lock up but today I’m planning a little run. I think I may be suffering from fat head. Anyway, how are you? What have I missed?

My Boy

July 27, 2010

Just took his first foray into cyclo tourism. I love my tourer. It’s an Edinburgh revolution country traveller and I’ve just carried our clothes and food in the wonderful Ortlieb everything proof all singing all dancing panniers up the cycle track to west sleekburn with the boy setting the pace. I’m disgustingly, sickeningly proud of his road skills.
We’re sitting in a caravan with the bikes outside and the sun shining. Cycling may be an expensive hobby but experiences like this are priceless. Who could want for more?

Lucky Lady

two lifts in one day! My stepdad kindly Dropped me and my bike off at Belsay at silly o’clock this morning so only a 10 mile ride to Stamfordham for me. I still managed to make a wrong turn too, autopiloting it to Ponteland. My thighs are aching from the not quite jogging yesterday. Still, I got to stand around in the wind for three hours marshalling at the Wansbeck CC road race, that helped. Then back to the village hall to fill my water bottle and off I set for home. Just coming past Black Heddon and a fellow Wansbeck member (with a giant car) stopped and offered me a lift home. Yes please.

I’m a bit sick of the MapmyRide App. It loses signal up in Northumberland, I keep forgetting to switch it on and it seems to be eating the battery far more than it used to. Maybe I’m just being a grump.

I’ve had a busy weekend me.

Instead I

Went for a jog. Kinda. I’m not very good at it and not very experienced so I went for a walk-jog-walk-jog.

1.69 miles in 27.26 minutes. Oh well, everyone has to start somewhere. Fellow Twit @belfastbiker suggested I give http://bit.ly/cQ7SuL a try. Couch to 5k? Worth a look eh?

Soemtimes Some Stuff

July 24, 2010

So I woke up at half six this morning sandwiched between the Junior Cyclist and the Household cyclist and decided to stay there. Was lovely and warm and cuddly. No Saturday ride for me today. OMG I’m going to get fat aren’t I! 😛
